Demographics

This street is included in two Australian Bureau of Statistics Collection Districts (CD), and this accounts for the range in the following statistics.

This is a very Anglo-Saxon area, with 84-94% of residents having that ethnic background. The only other significant group are Italian speakers, being 0-6% of the area's population. 69 - 77% of residents give their religion as Christian, and 13-20% claim no religion.

It is a low income area (though as one might expect, the CD closest to the waterfront (102313) had much higher incomes). 46-77% of residents earn less than $16,000 per year, and only 15% earn mnore than $25,000 p.a.

Families constitute a little under half the inhabitants of dwellings. Of these sole parents are relatively high at 11-18.5% (average for Australia is 13.09%). Couples without children make up 40-50% (average for Australia is 32.2%) and two parent families with children are 27-45%.

This is a high rental area with almost half of properties being rented (44-48%), followed by those owned at 33% and mortgaged at 16-18%. The majority of homes have 2 - 3 bedrooms. About half are separate houses and half are flats or apartments.
