My mother-in-law bought this for me when I was first married. She used to have the knack of going into secondhand shops. It used to be an old, what was a wash-hand-stand basin type thing, where there was sheet glass on the top and there was a little back up, and it was what was used to put the jug and the bowl on many years ago. And I just store my glasses in it, but it is a good piece of furniture, an old piece - it's rather nice.
