Friends Family Daughter Garden Intro

Listen [laughs] The bricks actually came from the next door neighbour's house, 'cos of course when we first moved here we were one of the first houses. And so we used to scavenge, you know, bits of wood to build things, we had no money.
So a lot of our early fences were built out of scavenged bits of wood. And, you know, we had bricks edging the garden for a while. [laughs] Yeah, they didn't mind. They were lovely neighbours, actually. It was really quite lovely. It was three women, three generations of women: Vera who was about ... around about seventy, and she was English; and her daughter Wendy who was probably in her fifties, and her daughter Vanessa in her late teens/early twenties.
Lovely women, really nice to have next door, actually, very helpful. Zoe used to be in there all the time. You know, they'd look after Zoe whenever; we'd share stories, we'd share food, houses, space, everything.
